Book Review- The Dark God’s Bride by Dahlia L. SummerIn book two, Nala has set her plan in motion to get Trent, the son of Lucifer, to love her. So far everything is going as planned. She is worried, however, about Noctis getting in the way. She mettles a bit in Amara’s life leading Noctis to believe there is a child in the works.
Amara has no clue and believes Noctis is going insane. Noctis is on his way to insanity as he knows, but decides to change his approach with Amara as a result of the pregnancy. He decides to provide for her but leave her alone. Amara is confused. She is fighting her feelings for Noctis, yet his behavior has baffled her lately. She can’t figure out why he has pulled the disappearing act.
When Kali comes to visit, Noctis takes advantage and abducts her. He is determined to find where Lucifer rests. Once he threatens Kali, Lucifer stirs and rises. The battle begins as revenge reigns. Amara is determined to find the truth so no one has to perish. Her efforts result in trapping her for all eternity without the one she loves.
In this book the author continues the explosive relationship between Noctis and Amara. Their relationship is filled with intense passion and a swing between love and hate. It was fun to watch them fight with each other. I could just picture their expressions when dealing with each other.
In the end they realize how much they really care, especially Amara. She really misses him when he is gone. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next. The writing flowed better in this book and I give it a 4 out of 5.

The Dark God Bride Trilogy #2 edition by Dahlia L Summers Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Freaking cliff-hanger. Do. Not. Like. Cliff-hangers.
So now I anxiously wait for the next installment and I am sad. Why does it seem authors are now extending books? Making them part 1, part 2 and so on. So much more expensive and time consuming when I just want to move on to the next book and story. Sometimes installments aren't even that great, and actually ruin books for me. Why?!
So nothing to say on the book other than that I am waiting impatiently. As clearly stated.
UPDATE no longer waiting.
Such a great series! My biggest disappointment is that the author has not published more here on ! I almost never buy books if I've read them in kindle unlimited, but I bought this series and have read it adversaries over. Dahlia, please publish more!!?
I just love this book and the first. Mr. Summit/ Noctis/I am a god bow down to me, is totally so funny because he is so in love and he has such a hard time coming to terms with it. Amara is a wonderful heroine. She strong and has a lot more power than she thinks. The whole way through I find myself wanting to slap both of them though. I just want to say, hey, you two are madly in love with each other, just admit it and be happy. Both books are wonderful and I am dying here, waiting for the 3rd and final installment to come out. Hope it's soon.
I'm happy Lizzie at least has a man now even though Its Shiran(necromancer) but still it's a man. Raya(Nala aka Sneaky Bitch) I can't wait for Trent to find out she tricked him again, even though they belong together. Lucifer is back only because the only person who can wake him from his slumber is his wife's scream, good one Lucifer. Noctis relationship with Amara matured a lot from book one, there was more sex and orgasms this time around "You Go Girl". And he loves her, with baby or without baby, he can't sleep without her next to him in bed.
This book being the second in the trilogy and I felt it was better in bed than the first ;) Amara and Noctis' relationship becomes more fine tuned than the first. Noctis is unraveled as we discover his past and that he has more depth than his normal "me god, you mortal" mentality. I kept skimming the pages frantically wondering what would come out of that mouth of his (in a good way) and murmuring out loud to "just say it already!" There are some plots that readers do not expect which is refreshing for a second novel when Amara tries to date another guy. Trent and his other self's relationship becomes more in the spotlight in this book but it becomes even more tragic than I initially thought, it is eternally doomed even when she becomes mortal to create a chance for herself in his arms. The last chapter I reread several times since the cliff hanger was that good. I sometimes skip purchasing second continuums but this one pleasantly surprised me with the authors quick wit and personality that is reflected in her writing, I cannot wait for the third.
My one advice to those who are fans of this series is to wait till book 3 comes out then buy both books, otherwise you will die waiting.
A human woman, raised by demons, becomes the bride of a mad god out for revenge.
Unlike the last book there is a serious plot to this one. The last one concentrated on the feelings and characterizations of the main leads. This book actually focuses on the revenge plot and a side plot involving the brother of the main female protagonist.
It maintains it's beautiful characters from the last book. And they're beautiful because of their multidimensionality. They are never quite just one way. Yes, this character is evil, but why? This book answers that question in a way that you can get behind even the most sinister and abusive characters and cheer for them.
I love this series. That being said this book felt a bit heavier than the last book. Not as many fun scenes. There are more scenes where the characters are separated, rather than interacting. And as I said before, there are more main overarching supernatural evil showdown story moments.
There are also too many scenes involving the protagonist's brother. I understand that this character may have fans but, I didn't buy this book for him/her/whatever. It's an interesting side story i suppose but, not my cup of tea.
Finally... It doesn't end. Now I have to wait for the third book. Okay, it does actually end, but there has to be more to it! The wait is going to kill me! I want to know what happens next. I have to know!
4 stars. Love it but had to remove one star because this book has too much interest in the side character stories.
