I thought this would be an interesting story as it is about the Enigma Project during WW II. Evelyn is supposed to be a female engineer that joined WAVES to make a difference in the war effort. Through a brilliant suggestion, she is given clearance to work on the project. There the excitement of the story ends. She proceeds to NOT offer any more brilliant suggestions and ends up in an intra-office romance with Mark, the other engineer. I found Mark to be a hypocrite. He looks down on Evelyn because she doesn't follow Christ, and yet he has no problem trying to kiss her despite having his own girlfriend! Their romance is distracting and uninteresting.
Loved this book!! Love and history mixed together with Christian values almost always leads a wonderful story, in my opinion.
Patriotism, service, family, love and, most importantly, faith. I like this author's writing style.
The characters are realistic and interesting. Set during a trying time for our country, it is a
story that warms the heart.

. I was able to read this book in one sitting and that added to my enjoyment. The editing was really good; no need to stumble over mistakes! I liked the way The main character came to faith. It was realistic and well developed. The details about the war effort and her part in it were interesting. The romance was a bit slow but perhaps they needed that time apart. My only criticism is that it ended very abruptly. I couldn't believe there was not another page to round out the story. I'd like to read another book by this author but hope she can add a little more after the "yes I will"!!!
I search for Christian books that tell a good 👍story and these three; A Promise Forged, ....Kept, ....Born, met my expectations! The added pleasure of setting them in the time period surrounding WW II, added to my interest.
