This starts out a bit slow, but does pick up toward the end. Nonetheless, it's an enjoyable read and has an intriguing premise.
The book is very well written. It gives one a sense of being there, without creating a huge adrenaline flow. I like the way he weaves the story together. It works very well as an enjoyable story, but also has a lot of depth to it. I have read the book twice, and may read it again. I think a sequel might work.
A true delight. This book is a true escape to another time and era with just enough imagination to move the story along. Wonderful characters, villians, and heroes. A book that touches your heart in so many ways you can hear the sound of the green violin.

My sons (10 and 11) all read this book this summer. It was a pretty good book. It was a little slow in the beginning, but it all came together at the end. They didn't love it, but they thought that it was okay.
An excellent story. My 11yr. old son really liked it and did a book report on it. The characters were incredible, and with all the unexpected twists and turns, I was sad and happy at the end because I wanted the story to continue.
I had read Matt Kirby's book ICEFALL and really enjoyed it. This book turned out to be much different than ICEFALL, but still as well written and fun to read. Matt does a great job in weaving the story of three individuals and eventually how they meet together to realize their goals. I highly recommend this book!
