Still hooked on reading Lindsay McKenna’s books. I am now on the 30th book and continue to be captivated by how real her characters are. Her descriptions of the protagonists in the story as well as their surroundings are so vivid that you feel that you are part of the story plot and are able to experience each moment described in the book. The author enables you to become so captivated with the plot and all its characters that you can’t wait to turn the page. In Breaking Point you share the lives of Baylee-Ann Thorn, an Army 18 Delta combat medic and Gabe Griffin, a lone SEAL who is lethal, dangerous and a very protective, sensitive individual. In this book, as well as in all of her other books, we see the multi-faceted qualities of her main protagonists. McKenna shows us that even the toughest and lethal SEAL can behave with sensitivity, love, and understanding towards a special woman he respects and admires. His demonstration of loving tenderness towards Bay as she decompresses during her precious 30 days of R&R in Coronado goes a long way to show the love of a man for his soul mate. The author enables us to be silent witnesses to some very tender, loving and highly erotic moments between two people very much in love with each other.

As I begin reading each of her books, I can't put them down till I get to the last page. When I do that, I am filled with mixed emotions because there is always a happy ending and, yet, I am sad because I have reached the end of the book. Well...that's when I pick up the next one where the saga continues with some of the same characters of the original story I read. Can’t wait for the upcoming sequel, Never Surrender, coming in July of 2014!

Female medic in Shadow Warrior program. Works with a Seal platoon, falls in love, during leave with her Seal, She is returniing to Afghanistan. for another 6 month tour. in Never Surrender.
Breaking Point (Shadow Warriors) by Lindsay McKenna is a must read. Lindsay has again put the reader in the story to feel one is on location. The description given on the Seals was excellent. This book is spellbinding with adventure and romance. Can't wait for the sequel (Never Surrender coming in July 2014)
Another women trained black squadron medic super trained joins a Seal team undercover for a riviting story of how she came from the hill country to this company to fill a position short term. The adaptations she made, the challenge of acceptance into this close nit exclusive group of super heroes is a great suspenseful story in Afghanistan and how the support of her assigned partner teaches her how to be a Seal and him how to love this down to earth non "Hibilly Woman". Compassion, respect, honesty and taking care of their own makes me so proud of McKenna what she shares with her reader's about military, war, life and the special men and women who serve. I can't put her books down.
This story was everything I expected from the Arthur. Gabe is such a strong sexy confident guy and since Bay has been assigned to this SEAL team he's been assigned to make sure she can adapt and keep up with them. What is equally touching is how their feelings grow for each other. There's plenty of action and you can't read fast enough to see what's going to happen next and what's amazing there is no sex between them until the end of the book, Gabe and Bay decided sex would complicate things too much and would be a step over the line I loved that the author did it that way. Bay is a strong and confident women. Caught in a fire fight she proved she could hold her own with odds that were against them. You also get a glimpse of what our men and women in the military go thru in combat situations. Can't wait for the next one
If you don't read anything else this summer, do read this book AND the next in the series, Never Surrender. Lindsay McKenna outdoes herself again, she writes passionately about the lives of our people in the military, in this case Navy Seals and a brave volunteer military woman in a secret experiment to see if women can sustain violent combat in Afghanistan. You will be on the edge of your seat, I promise you, as you read these books. Lindsay doesn't pull any punches - this is violent and dangerous work, extremely so, and the danger is right there, all the time. She writes compellingly about the rock and the hard spot many Afghan people are caught between, with extremists coming over the Hindu Kush Mountains from Pakistan who terrorize the Afghan tribal people and recruit followers in the name of Allah. Her portrayals are chilling of the combat that occurs when those forces collide. It is obvious, Lindsay does her homework and her pages resonate with accurate detail of how US forces combat the Taliban. While you're at it, read the entire Afghan series of books by Lindsay, which includes books about the Trayhern children; you won't regret it!
I have to preface this review by saying I have never read a Lindsay McKenna book I didn't LOVE but, these Shadow Warrior books are SPECTACULAR. The books are fast-paced, action packed, character driven, meticulously detailed and I have fallen in love with every hero from each of these books. This one is about a SEAL named Gabe who meets a medic named Bay, who is inserted into his SEAL team in Afghanistan. Of course, there are problems originally with some of the men not wanting a woman in their midst, but when Bay proves herself time and again, everyone grows to respect her and Gabe grows to love her. The only thing I HATE about this is that I'm going to have to wait until July to read the next book in the series to find out the final outcome with Gabe and Bay.
I'm telling you, though, don't start reading this book if you have anything important to do for the day because it won't get done! You will not want to put this book down!
