In his fourth novel, winner of the 2011 Canada Reads competition and "CanLit's crowned king of chuckles" (Telegraph-Journal) Terry Fallis's sharp, funny wit takes readers into the world of identity, inheritance, and belonging, begging the question What's in a name?
This is the story of a young copywriter in New York City. He's worked at the same agency for fifteen years, and with a recent promotion under his belt, life is good. Then, one morning this copywriter finds himself unceremoniously fired from his job, and after he catches his live-in girlfriend moving out of their apartment a couple hours later, he's also single. Believe it or not, these aren't the biggest problems in this copywriter's life. There's something bigger, something that has been haunting him his whole life, something that he'll never be able to shake. Meet Earnest Hemmingway.
What's in a name? Well, if you share your moniker with the likes of some of the most revered, infamous, and sometimes dreaded names in history, plenty. This is Earnest's lifelong plight, but something more recent is on his plate His father is pressuring him to come home and play an active role in running the family clothing business. And as a complex familial battle plays out, Earnest's inherited name leads him in unexpected directions. Wry, clever, and utterly engaging, No Relation is Terry Fallis at the top of his form.

This is the second Terry Fallis book I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Whether his humour is laugh out loud or subtle I found myself chuckling quite often. He has a great way of weaving a few different story lines together. I definitely recommend this book!Product details

No Relation edition by Terry Fallis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a very different subject line and because of that I really liked the book.
The writing was good, but the story was not very interesting. It was not nearly as good as good as his other books.
Great comedic writing for a talented Canadian author
Really enjoyed it but it was not as compelling as Best Laid Plans. Good enough that I will buy more of his books
I was disappointed in this effort by Terry Fallis. I really enjoyed his first book. I do plan on reading his next. "No Relation" is a lightly written humorous tome, but it lacks the substance of his political books. They had a ring of truth to them. This book is just kind of silly.
This was a little more serious that previous Terry Fallis novels. I was hoping for the same kind of laugh-out-loud humour I got with Up and Down, and was disappointed in that respect. Nevertheless, it was still reasonably entertaining.
This third novel continues the genre of light and enjoyable, but not as funny as the previous two.The subject of people with famous names and their travails is novel ,but not knee- slapping.A light Sumer read.
